Experience the magic of hot air balloons rising with the sun. The Hamilton Balloon Festival is one of the Waikato’s most awe-inspiring spectacles. We offer a gentle, seated viewing experience designed especially for older adults and supported clients — with sunrise colour, community atmosphere, and morning tea to match.

Early morning coach trip to Innes Common or Claudelands viewing area (location varies by year)
Comfortable, seated viewing of dozens of colourful balloons inflating and lifting off
Light commentary from staff and balloon watchers
Time to take photos, enjoy the crisp morning air, and soak in the atmosphere
Optional breakfast stop after viewing

Chairs provided for seated viewing, or remain in the coach for warmth and comfort

Wheelchair-friendly drop-off and toilet locations planned in advance

🕒 Sample Schedule (Early Morning – ~4 Hours Total)
6 - 00 AM Depart from facility (sunrise approx. 6 - 45 AM)
6 - 30 AM Arrive at balloon viewing area – chairs set up
6 - 45–7 - 45 AM Watch balloons inflate and launch
8 - 00 AM Optional warm breakfast stop
9 - 30 AM Return to facility
